For everyone
Accessibility statement
A university platform has to work for every student and every member of staff. This statement explains how accessible Oxonia is today, where we still have work to do, and how to tell us about a problem.
About this statement
Last updated: 10 October 2026.
This statement covers the website at oxonia.ai and the Oxonia products universities use. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. Universities in the UK also have duties under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Equality Act 2010, and we design Oxonia to help them meet those duties.
How accessible this website is
We believe the website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA, because of the known issues below. This is based on our own testing with keyboard navigation, screen readers, zoom to 400% and automated checks. We have not yet had an independent audit, and we will name the auditor and date here when we do.
Features that help
- Live captions in Oxonia Scribe, in the lecture language or the student's own, with human-checked captions available as an add-on.
- Audio recaps and key moments, so students can jump straight to the part of a lecture they need.
- Voice or writing in Oxonia Tutor, so students choose what suits them.
- Several languages, including right-to-left layout for Arabic. See Languages.
- Reduced motion: the website respects your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Low-data mode for students on slow connections.
Known issues
- The explainer videos on our suite pages do not yet have caption files. We plan to add captions and transcripts.
- Some interactive product demos on the website are hard to use with a screen reader. The same information is available as text on each suite page.
- In the products, parts of mind maps, sketchpads and charts may be hard to use with a screen reader. Charts have text alternatives in tables or summaries where we can provide them.
- Some PDF exports may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
We aim to fix these issues during the next twelve months, starting with video captions.
Reasonable adjustments and other formats
If a student or member of staff cannot use part of Oxonia, their university's disability or student support service should be the first contact. We will work with the university to find an alternative. If you need information from this website in another format, such as large print, easy read or audio, email support@oxonia.ai and we will reply within 5 working days.
Reporting a problem
Tell us about any accessibility problem at support@oxonia.ai, with the page or product and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 working days. If you are not happy with our reply, see Complaints. In the UK, if you are not happy with how a public sector university responds to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Review
This statement was prepared on 10 October 2026 and will be reviewed at least once a year, and whenever we make major changes to the website or products.
