Shared AI credits

Oxonia's Ai enabled features draw on one shared credit wallet for the university. Admins see what is used, where and by which product.

What AI credits are

Every Oxonia product is Ai enabled. Lecture summaries in Scribe, live tutorials in Tutor, marking evidence in Mark, minutes in Senate and cited answers in Library all use AI. Credits are how that use is counted.

Instead of a separate allowance per product, the university has one shared wallet. Every product draws from it.

Why one wallet

No stranded allowance. If Mark is quiet outside exam season, Scribe and Tutor can use the credit instead.
One view of use. Admins see use by product and by department in the admin console.
One bill. The finance team buys credit once, not product by product.

Buying more

AI credit packs start from £600. They are listed with the other add-ons on the pricing page. Prices exclude VAT.

Other add-ons are counted separately, for example extra Scribe hours at £900 per 500 hours and Mark script packs at £114 per 1,000.

Or use your own keys

Some universities already pay for AI services and want Oxonia to use them. They can connect their own AI keys instead of using the shared wallet. See Bring your own AI keys.

What credits never change

Running low on credit never changes how Oxonia treats official records. Marks, minutes and policies still wait for a named person to approve them. AI answers still cite their sources. See AI principles and AI fair use.

Questions to ask in a demo

When you book a demo, we can help you estimate credit use from:

The number of lecture hours you expect to record.
The number of tutorials each student will take each term.
The number of exam scripts in a typical season.
The number of committees that will use Senate.

Common questions

Do students spend credit? Students use Ai enabled features such as captions, quizzes and tutorials. That use counts against the university's wallet, not against the student. Students never pay for credit.

Can we set limits by department? Admins can see use by department and product in the console, so they can spot where credit goes and plan the next pack.

What if we run out? Admins can buy another pack from £250, or switch to the university's own AI keys.
