Step by step

Guides and how-tos

Short, practical guides for the tasks people do most often in Oxonia. Each one follows the same steps you will see in the product.

Record a lecture and share the study pack

  1. Open Oxonia Scribe and press record, in the hall or online. You can also upload a recording, including a Zoom cloud recording.
  2. Show the QR code so students can join the live room and follow captions in their own language.
  3. Run a poll if you want a quick check of understanding.
  4. After the lecture, students get a summary, key moments, a mind map, a quiz and an audio recap.
  5. Check class insights to see what students replay and where quiz scores drop.

Set a tutorial

  1. Open Oxonia Tutor and type or say the question.
  2. Check the format, rubric and readings the builder suggests. Choose viva, debate or moot if you need them.
  3. Share it with the class.
  4. Students talk it through with the tutor and Sam, by voice or in writing.
  5. Read the class overview: who finished, who needs help and which ideas the class finds hardest.

Mark an exam

  1. In Oxonia Mark, draft the rubric and calibrate it on sample scripts. Approve it.
  2. Scan handwritten booklets with a phone, even offline, or run the exam online.
  3. Work through the review queue of uncertain, illegible, borderline and flagged scripts.
  4. Approve every script. Nothing is released until you do.
  5. Share samples with external examiners, who mark blind.
  6. Produce the broadsheet, item analysis and Senate results pack.

Run a Senate or Council meeting

  1. Add the meeting to the governance calendar in Oxonia Senate, with paper deadlines.
  2. Compile the agenda and board pack. Each paper gets a one-page summary.
  3. Members read and annotate on their phones or tablets, even offline.
  4. Vote in the room or in the app, with quorum checked live.
  5. The secretary edits, approves and e-signs the minutes drafted from the transcript.

Send a circular

  1. Draft the memo or circular in Oxonia Office.
  2. Send it for approval.
  3. Once approved, send it to the right people.
  4. Track read receipts.

Approve a regulator return

  1. Open the return in Oxonia Nexus. It is filled in from records already in the system.
  2. The quality office checks it.
  3. The Vice-Chancellor signs it off.
