One sign-in
Oxonia Academy ID
Staff and students sign in once with the account the university already gives them. The Oxonia Academy ID then opens every product the university has bought.
What the Oxonia Academy ID is
The Oxonia Academy ID is the single account that sits behind every Oxonia product. Oxonia is sold as five suites: Lead, Operate, Teach, Learn and Discover. All of them share the same sign-in.
A lecturer who records a lecture in Oxonia Scribe, sets a tutorial in Oxonia Tutor and approves scripts in Oxonia Mark does all of it as one person, with one account. A student who follows live captions, talks to the tutor and pays fees in Oxonia Wallet does the same.
It uses the account you already have
Oxonia does not ask the university to create and manage a new set of passwords. The Oxonia Academy ID links to the university's existing sign-in:
- Microsoft accounts, for universities that run Microsoft 365.
- Google accounts, for universities that run Google Workspace.
- SAML and Shibboleth, for universities with their own identity provider.
When a person leaves the university and IT closes their account, they lose access to Oxonia too. Joiners get access as soon as IT sets them up and the admin team gives them a role.
One person, one record
Because every product uses the same ID, the university sees one person rather than many copies of them. Oxonia Compass can show figures from every product because the people behind those figures are the same people.
Roles are attached to the ID, not to each product. A head of department who is also a Senate member has both roles on the same account. See Roles and permissions.
What people see after signing in
After sign-in, each person lands on the app launcher. It shows only the products the university has bought and only the ones that person's role allows. A student never sees the Bursar's dashboard, and a lecturer never sees products the university has not licensed.
Managed in one place
The university's IT and admin team manage sign-in settings, roles and products from the university admin console. There is one console for the whole platform, not one per product.
Two-step checks and session controls are covered on the access controls and 2FA page.
How to sign in
Go to the sign-in page. Your university's own button appears there. Choose it and sign in with your usual university account. If you cannot see your university, ask your IT service desk whether Oxonia has been switched on for you yet, or book a demo if your university is not yet a customer.
