Research outputs
ORCID
ORCID gives every researcher a persistent identifier. Oxonia Research uses it to keep outputs and impact in one place.
What ORCID is
ORCID is a free, persistent identifier for researchers. It links a person to their publications, grants and other work, even when they change institution or their name appears in different forms.
How Oxonia uses it
Oxonia Research tracks outputs and impact: publications, ORCID, open access and research income by faculty. Linking outputs to ORCID helps the research office see who has published what without asking researchers to fill in the same forms again.
Part of the research journey
ORCID sits at the end of a journey Oxonia supports from the start:
- Literature. Cited answers from the university's own theses in Oxonia Library.
- Grant. Funding calls matched to each researcher, and bids routed for sign-off.
- Ethics. Applications, reviewers and decisions, with conditions tracked.
- Supervision. PhD meetings, progress reviews and milestones.
- Outputs. Publications on ORCID, open access and income by faculty.
See Oxonia Discover.
For the research office
The research office sees outputs by faculty, ready for the research committee and for Oxonia Compass. Leaders see research alongside students, fees and results on the university dashboard, each figure with its source.
For researchers and PhD students
Researchers follow topics with saved searches in Library and see new material first. PhD students build their record from the start, and supervisors see milestones in one place.
Getting started
Oxonia Research is priced by student numbers, with a one-department starter at £5,000 a year. Oxonia Discover combines Research and Library. See the pricing page or book a demo.
Common questions
Do researchers have to use ORCID? No, but linking outputs to ORCID means the research office does not have to ask for the same details again.
Does this cost extra? No. Outputs and impact are part of Oxonia Research.
Where do figures appear? Outputs by faculty appear in Oxonia Research and, for leaders, on the Oxonia Compass dashboard with the source for each figure.
Linking outputs to ORCID also helps when a researcher moves between faculties or joins from another university. Their record follows them, and the research office sees a complete picture without retyping lists of publications.
