Works with Blackboard

Blackboard

If your university teaches in Blackboard, Oxonia fits into it. Rosters, links and study packs sync through LTI 1.3.

What the integration does

Oxonia connects to Blackboard using LTI 1.3. Once connected:

  • Course rosters sync between Blackboard and Oxonia.
  • Links to Oxonia products appear inside Blackboard courses.
  • Oxonia Scribe study packs sync to the course: summary, key moments, mind map, quiz and audio recap.

Why connect it

  • One place for students. Students find lectures, study packs and tutorials from the course they already use.
  • No duplicate lists. Rosters sync, so lecturers do not enter students twice.
  • One sign-in. Students and staff use the Oxonia Academy ID with their usual university account.

What Oxonia adds to Blackboard

Blackboard remains the home of the course. Oxonia adds what a learning platform does not usually do on its own:

  • Lectures captured and turned into study packs, with live captions in many languages.
  • A live tutorial for every student, with a detailed report.
  • Exam scripts marked against the rubric, with evidence for every mark and a named examiner's approval.
  • Reading lists and cited answers from the university's own collections in Oxonia Library.

Setting it up

An admin connects Blackboard in the university admin console. Our onboarding team can help. Onboarding and data import are available from £5,000. Many universities begin with one department. To get a quote, book a demo.

Other learning platforms

Oxonia also works with Moodle and Canvas. If different faculties use different platforms, each can connect.

Common questions

Does Oxonia replace Blackboard? No. Blackboard stays the home of the course. Oxonia works alongside it.

Which Oxonia products appear in courses? Oxonia Scribe study packs sync to each course. Students and lecturers open other Oxonia products from the app launcher with the same account.

Can we see it working first? Yes. Book a demo and we will show the Blackboard connection with example courses. Many universities then start with one department.

To book a demo or get a quote, see Contact us. For help during set-up, see the help centre.

Many universities run Blackboard alongside other systems built up over years. We start with the courses your first department teaches, check that rosters and study packs arrive as expected, and only then connect the rest of the university.
