Works with Canvas
Canvas
If your university teaches in Canvas, Oxonia fits into it. Rosters, links and study packs sync through LTI 1.3.
What the integration does
Oxonia connects to Canvas using LTI 1.3. Once connected:
- Course rosters sync, so each lecture reaches the right students.
- Links to Oxonia appear inside Canvas courses.
- Oxonia Scribe study packs sync to the course after each lecture.
A typical week
On Monday a lecturer records a lecture with Oxonia Scribe. Students follow live captions in their own language. By lunchtime the summary and quiz are in the Canvas course. On Wednesday the lecturer sets a tutorial in Oxonia Tutor, and each student talks through their essay. On Friday the lecturer checks class insights to see who is struggling and on which topic.
For students
Students open Oxonia from Canvas and sign in with their usual university account through the Oxonia Academy ID. Questions they get wrong in quizzes come back until they get them right.
See Oxonia Learn.
For lecturers and the exams office
Lecturers keep Canvas as the home of the course. Oxonia adds lecture capture, tutorials and marking. When exams come round, Oxonia Mark marks scripts against the rubric and a named examiner approves each one before results are released.
See Oxonia Teach.
Setting it up
An admin connects Canvas and Oxonia once, using the university admin console. Most universities start with one department and widen from there. To get a quote, book a demo.
Other learning platforms
Oxonia also works with Moodle and Blackboard. Ask about your set-up when you book a demo.
Common questions
Does Oxonia replace Canvas? No. Canvas stays where your courses live. Oxonia adds lecture capture, study packs, tutorials and marking.
Do rosters stay up to date? Yes. Rosters sync through LTI 1.3, so students who join or leave a course are reflected in Oxonia.
What does it cost? Oxonia Scribe starts at £24,000 a year for universities with up to 5,000 students, or £4,900 for one department. See the pricing page.
Canvas courses often hold many sections and teaching assistants. During set-up we check that each section's students reach the right lectures, and that tutors get the lecturer role they need. Start small, check the results with a few courses, then widen.
