What is new
Release notes
Release notes record what changes in Oxonia. This page explains what will be listed and how universities are told about changes.
What will appear here
Each release note will list new features, improvements and fixes, grouped by product, with the date it reached universities. Release notes will start to appear here as changes are released. None are listed yet.
Recently introduced products
Three products are marked as new on our site:
- Oxonia Compass. The leadership cockpit for the whole university: dashboard, strategic plan, risk register, approvals inbox and weekly brief. See Oxonia Lead.
- Oxonia Office. Day-to-day administration without paper: meetings, tasks, approvals, circulars, letters register, directory and room booking. See Oxonia Operate.
- Oxonia Research. The research office in one place: funding calls, grant bids, ethics, projects, PhD supervision and outputs. See Oxonia Discover.
How each note is written
- Plain words about what changed and who it affects.
- Whether any action is needed by admins.
- Whether a change affects how AI drafts are made or approved.
- Links to updated guides.
Changes that need notice
Some changes need warning in advance, for example a change to how sign-in works or a change during exam season. We will tell universities' named contacts before these changes, as set out in the terms of service and the service level agreement. Planned maintenance appears on the service status page.
What will never change silently
Oxonia's core rules do not change in a release. Anything that becomes an official record waits for a named person to approve it, and AI answers cite their sources. See AI principles.
Common questions
Will we be told about every change? Release notes will list every change that users would notice. Small fixes may be grouped together.
Can we delay a change? Some changes, such as new features, may be switched on by admins when the university is ready. Where this applies, the release note will say so.
Where do security fixes appear? Security fixes are listed once it is safe to do so, without details that could help an attacker.
Asking for features
Universities can suggest features through their account contact. Tell us what problem you want solved, who it affects and how often. Requests for new caption and tutorial languages are especially welcome. See Languages.
