Service status

This page explains how we report the health of the Oxonia platform, planned maintenance and incidents.

About this page

Last updated: 10 October 2026.

This page describes how the Oxonia platform is designed to work. It is not a certification or an audit report. Our contractual commitments are in each university's order form, the data processing agreement and the service level agreement.

Until a public status page is launched, we tell university admins about incidents and maintenance by email and in the product. Your university's IT service desk is the first place to ask.

What the status page will show

  • The current state of each product: Scribe, Tutor, Mark, Library, Senate, Policy, Compass, Nexus, Office, Advance, Research, AI Hub and Wallet.
  • Sign-in through the Oxonia Academy ID.
  • Connections to learning platforms, such as Moodle, Canvas and Blackboard.
  • Payments in Oxonia Wallet.
  • Planned maintenance, with dates and expected impact.
  • Past incidents, with a short account of what happened.

Planned maintenance

We aim to plan maintenance for quiet times, and to avoid exam periods and key governance dates where we know them. Universities are told at least 48 hours in advance, as the service level agreement says.

When something goes wrong

  1. We confirm the problem and post an update.
  2. We update the page while we work on it.
  3. We confirm when the service is restored.
  4. For serious incidents, we share a short review of what happened and what we are changing.

Working through an outage

Some Oxonia features keep working offline. Exams officers can keep scanning booklets in Oxonia Mark, and Council members can keep reading packs in the Senate boardroom app. Work syncs when the connection returns. See Mobile apps.

Availability commitments

Any availability commitment will be set out in the service level agreement. No uptime figure is claimed on this page. For help with a specific problem, see the support policy and the help centre.

Universities can choose who in their team is told about incidents, such as the IT service desk, the exams office during exam periods and the secretariat before major meetings. The contacts are named in the order form and can be changed by emailing support@oxonia.ai. If your university is running a critical event, such as an exam season using Oxonia Mark or a Council meeting in Oxonia Senate, tell us in advance so we can avoid planned work during that window.
